for
the 11th INTERNATIONAL MEETING
on
PROBLEMS IN APPLIED SPECTROMETRY AND RADIOMETRY PASR - 2009

The International Meeting on Problems in Applied Spectrometry and Radiometry (PASR) is organised and conducted by a group of the most prominent companies from Russia, the CIS and the Baltic States working in the field of registration and measurement of ionized radiation. The meeting is held regularly since 1996. The meeting is not confined geographically to a single location and formerly has been held in Mendeleyevo, Dubna, Zarechny, Kolontaevo, Odessa and Jurmala (Latvia). In recent years the meeting has come to be held traditionally in late September - early October once in two years. The 11th International Meeting on Problems in Applied Spectrometry and Radiometry (PASR 2009) will be held on the village of Agoy, Krasnodarsk Region from 20th to 25th September 2009, with the support of the National Research Nuclear University, State Technical Supervisory Board of the Russian Federation and Nuclear Energy State Corporation ‘Rosatom’.
The principal purpose of the meeting is to provide a venue for the exchange of experience among experts related to nuclear industry, information about the modern state and tendencies in nuclear engineering, metrology and methodology, software and legal framework in the field of practical spectrometry, radiometry and dosimetry.
SUBJECTS
It is proposed to discuss at the meeting issues related to the development and application of equipment, software, methodology and metrological support for measurements of ionizing radiation in the following fields and directions:
MEETING AGENDA
The meeting agenda includes plenary and verbal reports, discussions, equipment demonstrations, software and methodological products. Report theses are planned to be published by the beginning of the meeting. Representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the National Research Nuclear University, State Technical Supervisory Board of the Russian Federation, Federal Supervision Service for the Protection of Customer Rights and Human Welfare and Nuclear Energy State Corporation ‘Rosatom’.
The meeting will enable professionals to share their latest achievements and practical experience with the participants of the meeting, to discuss the prospects of future development. Novice specialists will be able to get to know the modern state of things in the field of practical spectrometry, radiometry and dosimetry, gain knowledge which will surely be useful in their future work. Authors of the best reports will be awarded commemorative diplomas.
A sports event programme of volleyball, tennis and football is scheduled to be held after the meetings on the holiday. The organisers and participants of previous PASR meetings will be able to share their recollections, photos and videos with their colleagues.

APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION
In order to participate at the Meeting one has to send the Steering Committee an application by post, email or fax and to pay the organisation fee. An electronic version of the application form for participation at the meeting may be downloaded from http://www.ekosf.ru/, Section ППСР-2009 (Top Menu Left). The theses of reports are to be submitted in the Word format, Times New Roman Font, Size 14, on one A4 size page only. Concurrently with their theses, participants from Russia must also submit permission to publish their theses in public press. The most interesting reports will be published in the science and information magazine of radiation safety ‘ANRI’, included in the bulletin of the Higher Attestation Commission, the Ministry of Education, Russian Federation.
The total number of participants is limited to 80. Participants who have sent in an application for participation will be sent an invitation, a contract copy and a bill.
PAYMENT FOR PARTICIPATION
For one expert the cost of participation at the Meeting is 16800 Russian roubles, VAT excluded pursuant to Section 347.2 Chapter 11 Article 26.2 of the Russian Federation Tax Code. This fee includes participation in all events of the meeting, report theses and a set of information materials, oral presentation, publication of report theses, attendance of an equipment exhibition, double-room lodgings with all conveniences, trips by train from the Tuapse Town train station to and back from the Village of Agoy on days of mass arrival and departure, a ticket to a drink reception and a banquet. Deluxe suites are available, for the approximate cost of 3000 roubles a day. Detailed information on lodgings is available at http://www.avtotransportnik.ru.
The meeting participation fee may be paid up by bank transfer according to a bill and a contract or in cash at any bank of your city.
A prize lottery traditional for the PASR Meeting will be organised during the closing banquet.
Three or more participants from a single organisation get a 10 percent price rebate.
Those that have participated in two and more PASR meetings will get an extra 5 percent price rebate. One page of advertising material in the Theses publication costs 1500 roubles.
SCHEDULE
20th September: arrival starting from 12:00 p.m., participant check-in
21st to 24th September: meeting at work
25th September: departure till 12:00 p.m.
IMPORTANT DATES
21st August 2009: deadline for the submission of report theses
11th September 2009: deadline for applying for participation at the meeting.
Any applications submitted after 12th September will be satisfied subject to the availability of hotel lodgings vacancies.
